If you've ever felt guilty for placing your baby a distance away while you make lunch
Hear This:
My wife says it may make him a better eater if he sees your relationship with food, he smells the garlic roasting, which helps build that familiarity with foods. My wife began to involve my son by the age of 2 years, (Scooping sauce, spin-drying the lettuce or stir ingredients in a bowl.) Yes it does get clumsy but they get familiar with different smells which encourage them to eat well. Now at 4 years my son Sihle helps make breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner on some occasion, especially on weekend.
Watching both my wife and son washing veggies, tossing them with olive oil and mixing sauces while I'm watching football or car magazines show on TV is truly something especial.
So take my wife's advice and get your child involved in cooking at an early age. Put your 6 months old in his/her highchair and pull her safely up to the counter while you blend her purees.
(Of course.. be careful that knifes used to chop the food is put away)
While daddy relaxes on the couch... other people are being productive. But it makes sense what your wife does
